Sarkaradevi Temple is one of the most important temples in South India.
It is situated South of the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk (in the North-West of
Thiruvananthapuram district). The nearest town is Attingal and Varkala.
Tradition accords a remote antiquity to this temple.
Deity: Goddess Bhagavathy is the principal deity. Lord Veerabhadra, Lord Naga,
Goddess Yakshi Amma are the minor deities.
Festival: Meena Bharani, the annual festival is celebrated for 10 days in the month
of Meenom (March-April). A unique offering known as Thookkam is held on the last day of the festival.
Kaliyoot ritual is performed just before the commencement of annual festival.
